Mpigi District Woman Member of Parliament Teddy Nambooze in trouble as her party National Unity Platform (NUP) find her replacement.
Nambooze has also learnt that her party boss Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu (Bobi Wine) is set to seal a deal with ANT’s Jamirah Naluyange to contest her in the coming 2026 general elections.
Sources reveal that last month, Bobi Wine sent his trustworthy men to Ibrahim Kasozi the former Makindye East legislator to convince his wife Naluyange to leave ANT and join NUP.
It is understood that the NUP boss has for sometime been looking for Nambooze’s replacement after establishing that she is among the NUP legislators who are no longer loyal to his leadership and on several occasions he has been seen publicly humiliating her.
Early this year, Bobi Wine traveled to Mpigi district for a burial and among the leaders he found there was Nambooze but when speaking to mourners, he only thanked them for voting Hillary Kiyaga a fellow singer turned politician representing the people of Mawokota North in parliament anf ‘forgot’ to thank the area woman MP who also hails from hid NUP party.
Kiyaga recently openly reported to Bobi Wine during one of the meetings with NUP leaders at their new headquarters in Makerere Kavule that Nambooze is secretly working with former trade minister Amelia Kyambadde to weaken NUP in Mpigi district.
He added that Nambooze is among the people who are mobilizing support for Kyambadde to strike back in Mawokota North after he defeated by her in the 2021 parliamentary elections.
Nambooze denied the allegations and placed Kiyaga on spot to provide evidence. Bobi Wine later used the meeting to warn his party legislators on not picking his phone calls.
Sources said that Bobi Wine was directly telling Nambooze because he has called her on several occasions but she refused to pick nor return his missed call.
“At one time, Bobi Wine had to even use the phone of his personal assistant Sheriff Najja and that is when Nambooze picked. Bobi Wine complained to her and she defended herself that he called when she was busy. She promised to change,” a source said as quoted by theGrapevine.
NUP insiders disclosed that from that day, Bobi Wine assigned Kiyaga to look for Nambooze’s replacement.
He first took to him a one Joan Nalule who previously worked with Bukedde TV and BBS TV where she was fired and is currently working with Pastor Jackson Ssenyonga’s Top Television. Sources state that Bobi Wine has decided to go with Naluyange.
