The territorial police in Kibuku are currently investigating a distressing case of mob action that occurred last evening at Kitantalo 1 Cell, Kitantalo Ward, Tirinyi T/Council in Kibuku District, resulting in the death of an unidentified 20-year-old individual.
According to reports, at approximately 6:00 PM, police officers from Tirinyi Police Station received information from one Kyeita Sam Sharif that a mob was attacking a suspected motorcycle thief at Kitantalo 1 Cell. In response to the distress call, the police promptly rushed to the scene, only to discover the lifeless body of the deceased.
The investigation into this heart-wrenching incident has commenced, under case reference kibuku CRB 197/023. The deceased’s body has been conveyed to kibuku H/C IV Mortuary, pending a Postmortem examination. Additionally, authorities have recovered the suspected stolen motorcycle, bearing the registration number UFK 013D (Bajaj Boxer), at the crime scene.
As of now, no arrests have been made, but an ongoing search for those involved is underway. The police are diligently working to bring justice to this tragic loss.
