Lugazi secure Topflight Football

Lugazi FC secured topflight football with a 2-0 win over Kaaro Karungi FC in the FUFA Big League encounter at the Lugazi Stadium on Sunday.

Gerard Efiti coached side needed first half goals to seal Uganda Premier league football for the first time in the club’s history.

Lugazi came into the game needing a point to gain topflight division football but goals from Sam Ssemugugu and their starman Ronald Ssempala earned them maximum points.

Ssemugugu fired the hosts into the lead after 10 minutes before Ssempala doubled their advantage at the half hour mark.

Lugazi join Police FC and Mbale Heroes into the Uganda Premier league. They are second on the FUFA Big League table with 50 points.

Lugazi FC become the first team from Lugazi since SCOUL in 2002 to prevail to the Uganda Premier league.
