Sipapa’s court hearing pushed to mid July

Things are not yet good for city socialite and money-bags Charles Olim aka Sipapa amidst his high-profile legal battle. He has once again been remanded to Luzira prison on charges of robbery.

This follows Sipapa’s arrest with his wife Shamirah back in 2022 over allegations linking him to several high-stakes heists.

Despite multiple court appearances, his efforts to secure bail have consistently hit a brick wall, keeping him behind bars as his case unfolds.

Earlier on Tuesday, the socialite made yet another appearance at the Magistrate’s Court in Makindye.

The prosecution presented its fifth witness, an expert from the forensics department, who provided key evidence in the case. However, the defense, led by attorney Geffrey Turyamureeba, contested some of the forensic claims, arguing they failed to adhere to the required legal protocols.

The presiding judge has scheduled the next hearing for July 18, 2024, to deliberate on the admissibility of the contested evidence. Until then, Sipapa will remain in Luzira prison, awaiting the court’s crucial decision.
