Outgoing Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta to earn millions when he leaves office

Incumbent Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta will pocket a lifetime salary of Ksh1.2 million per month when he officially leaves office.

The salary for former Presidents is always included in the national budget.

Exiting Heads of State are paid 80 per cent of their pensionable income which is usually 60 per cent of their gross salaries.

Kenyatta who will be succeeded by William Ruto later this month will also enjoy a monthly house allowance of KSh300,000, fuel allowance (KSh200,000) and KSh300,000 for utilities. The monthly stipends will be about Ksh1million.

He will also have a fully furnished office, two brand new limousines, two new four wheel drive motor vehicles, six security guards, two cooks, four housekeepers, four messengers, four secretaries and two laundry personnel.
