RTD Col.Kizza Besigye has joined the rest of the country to mourn the late Gen.Elly Tumwine.
Besigye revealed while appearing on NTV Uganda that Tumwine was his commander for sometime. He also said that the fallen soldier was not a popular commander and was a bit rigid
“I have known Gen.Tumwine closely, he was my commander for some time. He was a chairman of a court that was to try me for a capital offence. We have had different beliefs for years.”
Well, Gen.Tumwine was not a popular commander, perhaps because he didn’t have a close relationship with the fighters. He was a bit rigid.”
Besigye stated that Tumwine went beyond supporting the partisan interests of NRM to Gen. Museveni.
“Gen.Tumwine went beyond supporting the partisan interests of NRM to Gen Museveni’s personal interests. You could reason with Tumwine until you reach what affects Museveni. He was a bit like Kale Kayihura in that regard.”
Said Besigye.
Gen.Tumwine was among the UPDF high command and will be laid to rest in Kazo on Tuesday.
