The Uganda Police has officially kick started investigations into the plot to murder the Speaker of the Parliament Hon. Anita Among.
Last week, the Speaker dropped a bombshell that she is aware of a plot by unidentified people to assassinate her.
The spokesperson of Police Fred Enanga has confirmed that investigations into the matters have commenced.
” This is now a police matter that is actively being investigated by the Special Investigation Division in Kireka” Enanga said to the media.
” You are all very well aware the position of the speaker of the Parliament is very important in this country. ” He added.
Enanga made the revelation during the weekly police briefing at the Police Headquarters in Naguru.
He further revealed that they are working with the office of the speaker in regards to the matter.
Enanga however said the police will not provide any updates about the progress of the investigation of the matters to the media or the public.
