NRM parliamentary caucus confirms incumbent EALA members as the chosen ones

In July this year the NRM central executive committee resolved that it will be business as usual at the EALA concerning the ruling party representation.

CEC sat and decided that the likes of presidential advisor Catherine Kusasira who had shown interest in the positions should move slowly since them as CEC didn’t see any reason for changing the status quo.

Like expected, the National Resistance Movement caucus in the 11th parliament today the 16th of September 2022 endorsed the CEC’s decision of maintaining the incumbent members at a meeting held at Kololo.

In a document signed by the party Secretary General that this website has a computer of, the caucus had two resolutions,

1. The incumbent EALA members be maintained in recognition of their exceptional performance. and

2. The NRM Parliamentary caucus hereby unanimously endorses Akol Rose Akullu, Kakooza James, Mugyenyi Mary, Musamali Paul, Namara Dennis and Odongo George Stephen as the six NRM candidates for the position of members of EALA.

What remains are now the three positions that come from the opposition political parties and the independent to make the total of nine representatives for Uganda.

It is also worth remembering that the leading opposition party National Unity platform made a decision not to take part in the electoral process of EALA members citing unfair treatment of the ruling party in making the process like a ritual in which they are assured of six positions.

The EALA member electoral process starts Saturday 17th September 2022 in the parliament of Uganda.
