Construction of Shs9bn URA office in Masaka underway

Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) has started construction of a Shs9.9billion regional office block in Masaka City.

The four-storeyed building on Plot 31 along Kampala Road will house all URA departments serving the Greater Masaka sub-region.

The building will also have 250 seater conference rooms among other facilities.

 

URA commissioner customs Abel Kagumire who represented URA commissioner general John Rujoki Musinguzi
says that this is the first offices outside Kampala and promised that more will be constructed in other regions.

“We are here to launch a neoclassical design of a building that will improve on the working conditions of our staff,” Kagumire said on Friday as quoted by Daily Monitor.

According to Kagumire, also revealed that the Authority has lost a lot of money in renting office space in Masaka for the last 10 years.

Ambitious Construction Company Ltd is expected to completed the construction work by October 2023.
