Rugby player handed 10 months suspension for beating Journalist

Warriors player Gabriel Aredo has been suspended by the Rugby Union for beating New Vision Journalist and USPA General Secretary Johnson Were.

The Rugby Union confirmed the development on October, 3rd in a statement

“The Disciplinary Committee of the Uganda Rugby Union was convened on 28th September 2022 and all parties were invited to provide their independent accounts of the incident.”

“The Disciplinary Committee reviewed the merits in the statement and interaction during the session and provided their recommendation to the Executive Committee of Uganda Rugby Union.” The statement read

Following the assault that occured on 25th September at Kyabazinga Stadium, USPA announced a media blackout against the game of Rugby.
