University Football League: Teargas not enough to save MUBS from St.Lawrence humiliation

St.Lawrence University cruised to the Pepsi University Football League final after humbling Makerere University Business School 3-0 in the return leg of their Semi-Final at Nakawa.

SLAU who won the first leg in Kavule 2-1 to prevail 5-1 on aggregate to their consecutive final.

Goals from Kayongo Michael, Bruno Bunyaga and an own goal from MUBS skipper Abima Herbert saw Davis Nnono coached side completed a double over MUBS.

Meanwhile, hooliganism sparked after St.Lawrence’s first goal when the home fans led by Akena attacked the visiting fans.

Akena was horribly beaten in the face and decided to move to the center of the pitch requesting the match officials not to restart the game.

Police intervened with their usual medicine of Teargas to normalize the situation.

In the final scheduled for 12th November at Philip Omondi Stadium, St.Lawrence will face off with Uganda Martyrs University who eliminated UCU in the other Semifinal.
