Beenie Man explains why he didn’t promote his colabo with Chameleon

In the past we have had a number of international acts come to the country to perform and some have ended up in studio with our local artists to collaborate on a few projects.

In the year 2009 Jamaican dancehall superstar Beenie Man was in the country for a show at Kyadondo rugby grounds and during his time here he recorded a dancehall song with Jose Chameleon titled “How We Go”

The song produced by Paddy Man and also has former Blu*3 member Jackie Chandiru offering background vocals did very well on the local seen but it never got the promotion it deserved especially on the international market.

Asked yesterday at the media conference at Skyz Hotel why he never took trouble to promote the song and also have a video shot for it, Beenie Man who is back in the country for another show said the song is not his, hence he couldn’t promote it!

“The song wasn’t my song, it was their song so if they didn’t make a video there would be none. I was just featured on the song.
That song was a great song but it’s not mine.”

Asked if he didn’t put any effort just because it wasnt his song, he said it wasn’t about not him putting effort.

“You can’t put effort promoting another person’s song, that doesn’t make sense when you have your own to promote. It doesn’t make sense, think about it” said the Jamaican.

Beenie Man will be live in concert this Friday 11 November, 2022 alongside other acts like South Africa’s Focalistic and Nigeria’s Oxlade plus local artists Azawi, Vinka and Winnie Nwagi.

Venue for the show is Lugogo Cricket Oval and Beenie Man promised to put up a good show since this time round he has his full band. The show is organized by Top boy entertainment and house of Music.
