Busoga United fans applauded centre referee George Nkurunziza for good officiating during their Uganda Premier league game with Soltilo Bright Stars on Monday at Kakindu Stadium in Jinja.
Despite losing 1-0 to Bright Stars, the home fans were pleased with the way Nkurunziza handled the game.
Nkurunziza was assisted by Sharif Lulenzi and Charles Zziwa while Henry Musisi was the fourth official. Mark Ssonko assessor and Hajji Abdul Kawuulu Mwanje were the referee assessor and match coordinator respectively.
Ibrahim Kasinde scored the all important goal as Bright Stars smiled to maximum points.
The win against Busoga means that Asaph Mwebaze’s coached side have now won four successive games after victories over Onduparaka FC, Express FC and BUL FC.
For Busoga their miserable run continued as they have only won twice this campaign with eight defeats.
They are currently 14th on the Uganda Premier league log with three points, having lost three points over fan hooliganism.
