A Government Vehicle has knocked dead a Police Constable identified as Micah Muhindo in an accident at Adwila along the Lira-Soroti road.
The accident happened on Thursday morning and involved a government vehicle Reg No UG 0337G, a Ford Ranger belonging to the Ministry of Internal Affairs and a motorcycle Bajaj Boxer reg no UEU 841C.
It is alleged that the driver, No 64670 PC John Oginere, a police officer attached to the Ministry of Internal Affairs while coming from Soroti upon reaching Adwila, first knocked the rider Bob Odongo before his vehicle lost control before knocking dead PC Muhindo who was on official duty.
Faridah Nampiima the traffic police spokesperson, has also confirmed that the accident also claimed the life of the Boda Boda rider who died on the way to Lira regional referral hospital.
Nampiima also revealed that the driver of the vehicle has been arrested to help in investigations.
She has called upon all road users to be vigilant while traveling during this festive season.
