Uganda Premier league side UPDF FC have appointed Maj. Juma Maliyamungu as their chief executive officer (CEO).
Maliyamungu replaces Cpl Ashraf Miiro in the capacity of CEO.
The development was confirmed by the UPDF Deputy Chief of Education, Sports and Culture Col. Deus Kakiga Taremwa at the Land Forces headquarters in Bombo.
Maliyamungu was urged by Taremwa to cooperate with the UPDF leadership to meet the club’s ambitions.
Maliyamungu also promised to work hand in hand with the army leadership inorder to make the club successful.
UPDF finished the first round in 13th place with 10 points they garnered in 14 games.
They are under the stewardship of Brian Ssenyondo and will be aiming to avoid relegation once the second resumes.
