The UPDF engineering brigade has in the past been known for their efficiency in completing tasks assigned to them.
A few years ago, they were assigned with the construction and renovation of all health facilities around the country and to this point no complaints had been heard from what they were doing.
The same team was then given the mandate to do renovation works at the National stadium Namboole.
Weeks ago, there was assurance by the Minister of state for education and sports Peter Ogwang that the stadium works by the UPDF brigade would be completed in time for the country to host the next game against Algeria in the stadium.
This did not go according to plan if there was any and the Minister has since apologized for his failed promise.
It’s from this background that a disappointed FUFA president Moses Magogo has called the UPDF engineering brigade incompetent and lacking the expertise and experience in stadium construction.
On his official Twitter handle, the FUFA president urged the Government to urgently cancel all the contracts of the contractors and supervisors then procure services of professionals in stadium construction.
‘We are likely to have a delayed project, substandard work, and without value for money’ read part of Magogo’s tweet.

Today 25th April, being the deadline for confirmation to CAF, FUFA has opted for Cameroon. We also plan to have 1 international friendly match against Cameroon in the same FIFA window.

Following the delayed works at Namboole, the Uganda Cranes will now host the AFCON qualification game game against Algeria in Cameroon this coming June.
