The Uganda peoples Defence forces (UPDF) General Court martial sitting in Makindye Kampala and chaired by Brig Gen Freeman Mugabe has today 15th May 2023, charged three youth ; Ayebazibwe Kassim 27 , Twinomugisha Dominic 19 and and Muhanguzi Julius 30 with murder and aggravated robbery.
Count 1 ,Murder c/s 188 and 189 of the Penal code Act cap 120 and Count 2 Aggravated robbery c/s 285and 286 (2) of the penal code Act cap 120.
Court heard that the three youth and others still at large on the 8th Sept 2021 armed with a deadly weapon ( SAR), the said gun being ordinarily a monopoly of the Defence forces .while at Mbaguta cell in mbarara city with malice aforethought , unlawfully caused the death of Cpl Agaba Richard. They robbed him of his SMG riffle and 30 rounds of Ammunition.
They pleaded not guilty to the charges and have been further remanded to Kitalya government prison as they await preparations to start hearing there case starting 5th Jun 23.
