Midfielder Ivan Sserubiri leaves SC Villa

Uganda Premier league SC Villa side have part ways with midfielder Ivan Sserubiri.

The 16 time Uganda Premier league champions have decided to release the midfielder who had six months remaining on his employment contract.

Sserubiri has been out of favour at SC Villa and has not started a game since the appointment of Dusan Stojanovic.

Seven time league champions Express FC have already expressed interest in the midfielder’s signature.

He joined the 16 time Uganda Premier league champions at the start of last year as a free agent following expiration of his contract at URA FC.

Sserubiri has previously featured for Buddu in the prestigious Masaza Cup competition winning the 2016 edition and was also named as the Most Valuable Player of the competition that same year.

He also played for five time Masaza Cup winners Gomba as well as Buganda Regional League side Free Stars FC.

The 16 time Uganda Premier league champions finished the first round in fifth position with 26 points.
