Bright Stars’ captain Nelson Senkatuka eulogizes coach Kajoba

On Monday, former Uganda Cranes Goalkeeping coach Fred Kajoba passed on due to heart complications while in Tanzania.

At the time of his demise, Kajoba was serving at Tanzanian side Ihefu SC along with compatriot Matia Lule.

Nelson Senkatuka revealed that it was Kajoba who named him as Bright Stars captain

“Coach Kajoba was a caring and God- fearing person who contributed to the development of Bright Stars. He set a lot of things in motion for the club and making me the captain of the team elevated my status,” Senkatuka revealed as quoted by NBS Sport

Current club Bright Stars head coach Joseph Harold Mutyaba, who played alongside the late in the 90s stated that the football fraternity has lost a great servant of the game

“He has been a coach who encouraged hard work and an ex-international who organized the family of ex-players. The football fraternity has lost a key person who made key contributions,” Mutyaba noted.

Kajoba featured for Coffee and Simba before going on to coach Bright Stars, Vipers, Simba and also serving as goalkeeping coach for the Uganda.

In 2019, Kajoba guided Bright Stars to their maiden Uganda Cup Final losing to Proline FC in Masaka.

Kajoba will laid to rest on Sunday, 19th May in Kiwawu along Mityana road.
