CAF Security personnel Dixon Okello has revealed that SC Villa fans had no intention to harm but to celebrate their victory.

SC Villa clinched a record extending 17th league title after a 2-0 victory over NEC FC on Saturday at Philip Omondi Stadium in Lugogo.

Okello hailed security for not using bullets to non violent fans whose intentions were to celebrate victory after 20 years of waiting.

“SC Villa fans Pitch invasion after the match!
Honestly, they had no intent to cause harm or violence, but to celebrate their victory( League trophy)after 20 years of waiting.”There is a big difference between Violent and excited fans. With a weak perimeter fence & thousands of fans in the stadium, common sense had to be used to avoid a major stampede. There was therefore no need to use an aggressive approach during or after the match. Security did a good job not firing bullets or tear gas but pitch invasions are not right though.”
