Uganda Police has confirmed the arrest of 40 year old suspect Prossy Nakalanzi for stealing a one year old baby from Mityana hospital.
The one year old baby was allegedly stolen from her mother Aisha Namutebi, four hours after her birth.
After reporting a case to police, the baby has been recovered from the suspect who is currently in custody of the territorial police in Mityana.
Nakalanzi was arrested from Kyengeza Village, Malangala sub county in Mityana at the home of Nanfuka Costa.
According to the police, Nakalanzi is a known resident of Kassambya, Watuba Parish, Kikandwa sub county in Mityana.
It is also alleged that Nakalanzi stole the one year baby in order to please her husband who wanted her to give birth to a baby.
She will subsequently be charged of aggravated trafficking in children.
