Eddy Kenzo real names Edrisa Musuuza joins Abayudaya were traditional group who were the first Ugandans to be nominated at Grammy Awards.
Abayudaya were nominated for the best traditional music Album in 2005.
The nominations for the 65th annual Grammy awards were announced on Tuesday 15th November, 2022.
The awarding ceremony will take place on 5th February, 2023 at the Crypto Com Arena in Los Angeles.
Kenzo will raise the Ugandan flag at the Grammys for his feature on Matt B’s song ‘Gimme Love‘.
The song has been nominated in the Best Global Music Performance category alongside Udhero Na by Arooj Aftab and Anoushka Shankar, Last Last by Burna Boy, Neva Bow Down by Rocky Dawuni featuring Blvk H3ro, and Bayethe Wouter Kellerman, Zakes Bantwini and Nomcebo Zikode.
Over the Weekend, Kenzo held a successful Festival at the Kololo Airstrip Grounds.
In 2014, he became the first Ugandan to win a BET for his Sitya Loss.
Meanwhile, Beyonce received the most nominations with nine for her Renaissance.
