African Sensational Afropop boy band set for hiatus after close to 2 decades

They go by the names Bien-Aimé Baraza, Willis Chimano, Savara Mudigi and Polycarp Otieno. Together they are known as Sauti Sol the Kenyan singing boy band.

The BET award nominees recently announced in a statement that they will be breaking off as a group indefinitely and concentrate on sole projects and other ventures.

In a statement put on their official social media handles, the group also amounted a world tour which will be the last one as Sauti Sol before they take a hiatus.

‘We are excited to announce that Sauti Sol, Africa’s sensational musical powerhouse, will embark on an exhilarating tour stopping in 5 cities across the US, followed by 10 stops in Europe and 4 stops in Canada before taking an indefinite hiatus’

‘Sauti Sol has been an incredible journey for us, both as musicians and friends, we are filled with gratitude for the love and support we have received throughout the years’

‘While we take this hiatus to pursue our individual and collective passions, we remain committed to our friendship and our shared businesses. The bond between us is unbreakable, and we are excited for what the future holds.’ Read part of the statement.

The East African fans have also not been left out as Sauti Sol will be sharing the stage with Legendary award winning R&B group Boy II Men on 10th and 11th June in Kenya and Uganda respectively.

The group has served us with hit songs such as Suzanna, Short N Sweet ft Nyashinski, the gospel soul Ballard Kuliko Jana ft RedFourth Chirus, SURA YAKO, Insecure, Shake yo Bam bam, and the lovely sweet jam STILL THE ONE to mention but a few.

Sauti Sol have 5 studio Albums to their name and are set to release a sixth Album this year before calling it a day.
