Enanga: Two foreign tourists and Ugandan killed by suspected Islamist rebels

Suspected rebels have killed tourists and burnt their car in Queen Elizabeth National Park Katwe Road between L. Nyamununka and Kabatooro.

Three people, two of them tourists and their driver, have been killed in Queen Elizabeth National Park on Katwe Road in Kasese district. Their car was set ablaze.

According to Police Spokesperson Fred Enanga the deceased were attack by suspected Islamist rebels.

The attack happened in the Queen Elizabeth National Park one of Uganda’s most popular conservation areas according to police.

“We have registered a cowardly terrorist attack on two foreign tourists and a Ugandan in Queen Elizabeth National Park,” police spokesperson Fred Enanga wrote on X, formerly Twitter.

“The three were killed, and their safari vehicle burnt,” he added.

Enanga said police were pursuing suspected members of the Allied Democratic Forces (ADF) – an armed group aligned with Islamic State (IS).
