Police has arrested a man identified as James Biryabarema for allegedly defiling his two daughters.
Biryabarema is a resident of Biina Zone D, Luzira Kitintale in Nakawa division.
According to Police Spokesperson Fred Enanga, the suspect defiled his daughters ages 15 and 17 years.
“When we arrested the father, we examined and found him to be very normal so in doing this, he knew that he was actually defiling his daughters.”
“We want to use this opportunity to inform local leaders and the community that Intra-familial sexual abuse; where children are abused by their fathers and other adults in the home is real,” said Enanga urging family members and victims to engage police’s family and child protection unit for help whenever they see early warning signs.
“Now in this incident, we want to thank these two girl victims for taking the courage to stand up for their rights and report their abusive father to the authorities and this is the beginning of the healing process.” Enanga said as quoted by LBS News Day website.
